亚洲货币预料将自2006年以来取得最佳的首月表现，由于亚洲的利率较高及其经济增长比发达国家来得快，令投资者把资金投入亚洲。

台湾、泰国及韩国5年期基准债券的获益率分别为0.93%、3.07%和3.48%，高于美国5年期国库债券的0.75%。根据彭博社(Bloomberg)访问15名经济师后得出的调查结果显示，马来西亚央行目前将可能把借贷成本维持在3%，而美国的利率则接近0%。

The STI has certainly taken this to heart, starting the dragon year by soaring like one. Markets seem to have simply concluded that the worst of the Euro woes are over and that one way or other, things will get sorted out there. Meanwhile, positive economic readings from the US have injected more courage into the markets. The STI has gained 12.7% year-to-date while the FTSE Straits Times Small Cap Index (FSTS) has done better with a 17.1% year-to-date gain.
